DBA dual-carriage belt actuators
The DBA 60 puts two independently driven carriages on a single 575 mm rail — two tools, two grippers, or a pick head and a camera sharing one axis with collision avoidance handled in the controller. Each carriage carries 2.5 kg at up to 1,200 mm/s.
It replaces the common workaround of two parallel actuators and a wider frame: one profile, one mounting, two NEMA 23 motors, $2,250. Typical uses are dual-head dispensing, hand-off between two tools without a second axis, and cycle-time doubling on short-stroke pick-and-place where the two heads alternate.

Rated load and speed are catalog maximums for the configuration shown; "—" means the figure depends on the motor curve at your speed — the engine computes it. All prices are U.S. list, single quantity.
Not sure which one?
Describe the task — payload, travel, speed, orientation. The engine picks the family and the variant, shows the torque and inertia math, and prices the whole system.
Frequently asked
Can the two carriages pass each other?
No — they share one rail, so the controller enforces a minimum separation and sequences moves to avoid collision. The engine's sequence editor simulates both carriages.
How many controller axes does a DBA 60 take?
Two. On an XY gantry with a dual-carriage X, a BLC-4T covers both carriages plus Y and Z.
What payload per carriage?
2.5 kg rated per carriage at 1,200 mm/s.
